The Students of Class XII collected monthly ration under the Somerville School Social Outreach Project to support the families of patients suffering from HIV/AIDS.

On Friday, 19 April 2024, ten students along with Mrs Gargi Banerjee and Mr Rajkumar Sarkar visited Abner Nelson Memorial First Baptist Church, Anand Gram, Dilshad Garden, Delhi. After a brief assembly, the students interacted with the families present and then distributed the ration. The students were then apprised of the causes and the consequences of contracting the HIV virus. They also visited the Somerville Vocational Training Centre.

It was a great learning experience for the students as they gained an understanding of the important values of compassion and generosity. They expressed their thankfulness to God for receiving abundant blessings.

As part of the Somerville School Social Outreach Project, 10 students of Class VIII and 2 teachers, visited Abner Nelson Memorial First Baptist Church, Anand Gram on December 02, 2023. A brief assembly was conducted by the students. The students distributed monthly ration to the families. They also met and interacted with the children studying in the school run in the church premises by the Lott Carey Baptist Mission. The students attended an awareness programme on HIV/AIDS and gained important information about the causes and prevention of the disease.

The students returned with gratitude and fulfillment in their hearts, and they resolved to always be of help to those in need.

Somerville School has always encouraged students to share their blessings with those who are less privileged. As part of the Somerville School’s ‘Thanksgiving Programme’, 21 students of Classes IX, X and XII, along with 2 teachers, visited Grace Home, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad on 18th December 2023. The Home takes care of abandoned children. A short assembly was conducted by the students. They also sang carols which added to the joyful atmosphere. Later, gifts like lunch boxes, water bottles, chocolates and biscuits were distributed to children. Our students interacted with them and found out about their daily routine and things they study at school. The visit filled everyone’s hearts with immense gratitude towards the Almighty for showering abundant blessings on each one of them.

Students of Class XII collected monthly ration as a part of the Somerville School Social Outreach programme to support the families of patients suffering from AIDS.

On 26 April 2023, seven students accompanied by Mrs Gargi Banerjee visited Abner Nelson Memorial First Baptist Church, Anand Gram, Dilshad Garden, Delhi. The students conducted a brief assembly. They interacted with the families and distributed the ration personally. The students were informed about the causes and repercussions of contracting the virus. The students also visited the Somerville Vocational Training Centre.

It was an enriching experience for the students as they learnt important values like generosity and compassion. They expressed their gratitude to God Almighty for blessing them abundantly.

As part of the Somerville School Social Outreach programme HIV/AIDS project, monthly ration was collected by the teachers and students of Class X for 30 families of critically ill patients.

Students of Class X accompanied by their teacher, Mrs Pratibha Poddar visited the Abner Nelson Memorial First Baptist Church, Anand Gram, Dilshad Garden on 9 May 2023. After a short assembly, the students interacted with the families and distributed the ration. Students were briefed about the causes and consequences of the deadly virus.

The endeavour helped students realise the importance of sharing their blessings with the ones who need empathy and care.

FREE VACCINATION CAMP – 22 JUNE 2022


Somerville School, Vasundhara Enclave, organized a Free Vaccination Camp in association with the Directorate of Health Services, GNCT of Delhi, on Wednesday, 22nd June 2022 in the school premises. The drive was organized for the administration of the 3 vaccine types- Corbevax, Covaxin and Covishield.

The 4-member team comprising of the medical officer, nurse and two Delhi Civil Defense personnel from the Delhi Health services administered the vaccines for eligible students, family members and staff of the school. A total number of people vaccinated were 130 (56 children for Corbevax; 20 for Covaxin and 54 for Covishield). The students were accompanied by their parents and were given appropriate post vaccination care after the dose was administered.

The parents shared their appreciation for arrangements at school where the children are at ease and the experience was very well received by all recipients alike. The school looks forward to take up health and welfare programmes to provide avenues to promote such causes for the community.

FREE VACCINATION CAMP – 22 MAY 2022

A total of 91 students received the vaccine. The students were accompanied by their parents and were given appropriate care after the dose was administered.

The initiative taken by the school was greatly appreciated by the parents. They applauded the school authorities for organising the camp in a systematic and orderly manner.
