MY SAFE CIRCLE ACTIVITY

As part of the school’s on-going efforts to educate young children about personal safety and emotional security, the ‘Safe Circle Activity’ was conducted in the Pre-Primary classes. The objective of this activity was to help children understand the concept of trusted individuals in their lives and to encourage open conversations about safety.

Children were first introduced to the concept of a ‘Safe Circle’, which includes a small group of trusted adults they can approach when they feel unsafe, scared or confused. The teachers explained that these trusted individuals could be family members, teachers, or caregivers, people who always listen, protect and support them.

Each child was given a flower template to take home and was asked to paste photographs of the people they trust the most, such as parents, grandparents, teachers or siblings. With the support of their teachers, the children talked about who their trusted persons were in their Safe Circle and why they trusted them.

The ‘Safe Circle Activity’ proved to be a meaningful exercise that fostered trust, safety awareness, and emotional well-being among the Pre Primary children.
